In Rome I did something I thought I would never, ever do…buy a fake bag. Not just a fake, but like, My-Heart-Skipped-A-Beat-When-I-Saw-It- fake. Because my new bag is an almost exact Céline copy, only with a Prada tag, which makes it quite funny don’t you think? I’m very happy with my lookalike, when people ask I casually say it’s a Praline, bought in Italy, hahaha.
I had planned all kinds of “Best Of NY” lists, but ya know, obligations, obligations, I’ll promise to post them in another few weeks. Now we’re off again to Bella Italia, for a few days of Being Nottingness with family and friends. When it comes to adventures, I have a lot to be grateful for this year! Enjoy your Summer (Holiday)!

This is it, in a few hours our New York adventure is over, and what an adventure it was! I really fell in love with the city, so this isn’t a farewell, just a temporary bye bye. Big Loves and Thank Yous to all Smile-friends we made here. ByeBye! Sniff…
Last Sunday New York celebrated Gay Pride, although I’ve had my fair share of throw beads, it was not as extrovert as in Holland, us Dutchies have a lot to be proud of when it comes to an open mind. Thumbs up for the Latinos though, big feathers, small pants and loud music, they rocked those 5th Av. streets! And in honour of the gay marriage bill passing, this is to my New Love…
I promise to respect and support you, to be patient and loving towards you, to work by your side to achieve the things we value and dream of, and to savor our time together. I pledge to you all of these things from the bottom of my heart for the rest of our lives…
Saturday we escaped Manhattan crowds and went to Williamsburg. Probably the best kept “secret”, because this part of Brooklyn has it all and is so relaxed! The largest Beacons Closet, indie boutiques, food or fleamarkets on saturday and sunday and loads of cool places to grab coffee, food or a beer. We would have no problems emigrating at all if somebody offered us waterfront living space at 184 Kent . The views of Williamsburg bridge and the Manhattan skyline will be in my mind forever, Williamsburg, we love you.
Take the subway to Bedford Av. and let North 1st until North 11th left from Bedford Av. up to the waterfront inspire you. At the end of your day, instead of the subway, take the East River Ferry back to East 34th St., Manhattan.
