NYC; ACE Hotel

June16

Yesterday on my way to the J Crew Sale I accidently jumped into the ACE Hotel for a restroom stop. I can honestly say I’ve never been happier to “have to go” otherwise I would never knew about probably the coolest hotel in New York, no… on earth! Oh J, it reminded me of Hotel New York back home, but the interior is more industrial, dark, New York-ish, I-LOVE-IT!
Opening Ceremony has a little hotelstore there too, and although I still think OC is way overhyped, I believe they’re definately more in place here, much better merchandized too.

NYC; Pipa Tapas Y Mas

June15

We sure love our tapas, and while in New York, it’s such fun to go to a new place everytime. Last week we went to Pipa, which is beautifully decorated with al kinds of chrystal chandeliers and again, everything was yummy. The downside? All those Spanish bites and sangria zips make a tapas night out quite expensive, no matter where you go.

NYC; Comme des Garçons

It doesn’t even matter if you can afford it or not, all the designer stores in NYC are so cool and full of inspiration they’re a must-do fashionista/o visit. For example the Comme des Garçons store in Chelsea, you enter through a sort of hobbit-door, and inside you’ll find all the avant-garde pieces the brand is world famous for, the supercool store staff is a sartorial bonus.
You’ll currently find the Matt Groening/ Play collection there. The store’s windows, walls and support pillars are covered with several black and white prints that feature characters from some of the artist’s most popular comic illustrations, most notably Binky and Sheba from Groening’s 1977 series, Life in Hell.

NYC; Sky Room

Summer is here and what cooler way to enjoy the hot nights than with a drink on a New York City rooftop! Sky Room gives you fabulous views of the city, Hudson River, Times Square and the Empire State Building. The drinks are served in a white decor terrace with superstylish LED lighting. Something to celebrate? Order the ultimate birthday bash, a party package of vodka, rose champaign, tequila and a birthday cake, yours for $900.

Sky Room, 330 West 40th St. 33rd floor between 8th and 9th Av.

NYC; El Centro

May30

El Centro, one of our favourite neighboorhood places to grab cheap Mexican food. We recommend the veggie quesadillas, mahi-mahi tacos and steak fajitas. And offcourse no Mexican dinner is complete without guacamole. It’s crowded, it’s loud, but the decor is fun and the food is yummy.

El Centro, 824 9th Av. between West 54th St. and West 55th St. Hell’s Kitchen
