NYC; Comme des Garçons

It doesn’t even matter if you can afford it or not, all the designer stores in NYC are so cool and full of inspiration they’re a must-do fashionista/o visit. For example the Comme des Garçons store in Chelsea, you enter through a sort of hobbit-door, and inside you’ll find all the avant-garde pieces the brand is world famous for, the supercool store staff is a sartorial bonus.
You’ll currently find the Matt Groening/ Play collection there. The store’s windows, walls and support pillars are covered with several black and white prints that feature characters from some of the artist’s most popular comic illustrations, most notably Binky and Sheba from Groening’s 1977 series, Life in Hell.

Summer is here and what cooler way to enjoy the hot nights than with a drink on a New York City rooftop! Sky Room gives you fabulous views of the city, Hudson River, Times Square and the Empire State Building. The drinks are served in a white decor terrace with superstylish LED lighting. Something to celebrate? Order the ultimate birthday bash, a party package of vodka, rose champaign, tequila and a birthday cake, yours for $900.

NYC; El Centro

El Centro, one of our favourite neighboorhood places to grab cheap Mexican food. We recommend the veggie quesadillas, mahi-mahi tacos and steak fajitas. And offcourse no Mexican dinner is complete without guacamole. It’s crowded, it’s loud, but the decor is fun and the food is yummy.

El Centro, 824 9th Av. between West 54th St. and West 55th St. Hell’s Kitchen

NYC; United Nude

United Nude, co-founded by Rem D. Koolhaas, nephew of Rem Koolhaas, and shoe maker Galahad Clark, member of the Clarks shoe family, isn’t just a shoestore, it is a shoe museum. United Nude shoes and sandals are inspired by the Barcelona chair design of famous architect Mies van der Rohe and based on the infinity loop of the Mobius strip. The result is a architecturally streamlined and highly fashionable shoe.
The store, designed by Rem jr., is a “dark-shop” concept which means that the store is completely dark in all areas other than those where the shoesies are showcased and literally highlighted in a LED lightwall.
Look at those constructed heels, isn’t it art? I would really love a pair with the metal heel and the “flowing” shoe. Not pictured, but you guys will also find some real beauties there.
