Maybe it’s because of the beautiful sunshine but I too got caught into this Summers hottest trend, yellow nailpolish. So this morning I decided it was time to get the limited edition vernis of Chanel Mimosa. Offcourse I went straight to the Chanel Boutique, my once in a lifetime chance to go and actually buy something there. One week after the launch, the polish is sold out allready but the friendly Chanel staff told me Bloomingdale’s had some left. So I went home, not with a little Chanel bag but with that other famous little brown bag.
So stylish New York ladies be warned, your only chance on wearing Mimosa this Summer is Bloomingdale’s! The chance of drinking Mimosa’s is countless since this champaign/orange juice cocktail is the #1 Sunday brunch drink.
Chanel Boutique, 737 Madison Avenue between East 57th and East 58th St.

Even though I’m not a make up- kind a girl, I do love using lipstick. I was curious to try the MAC lipstick. It took the guy in the Fifth store two tries before he got the exact same shade of nude as my lips, ever since then, I use the Hug Me lipstick every single day. I’m so addicted to that colour I also wanted a lipstick two tones darker for nighttime and off-days (you know, to feel good and feminine). That took the SoHo store girl one try as well before she got me Polished Up. I love both colours, the vanilla smell and the names, MAC cosmetics got herself a new fan. Whether you’re a long- or short term addict, stock bigtime while in the US, it’s a lot cheaper than Europe.
PLease check the MAC website for different adresses around the city.

New York is very good for my ego, I get compliments about my pixie haircut almost everyday. My hairdresser today told me American women are just not brave enough to go short, well that’s too bad for them hahaha. I love Aveda salons and their green products, and the US is THE place to stock bigtime on the American brand with prices almost 50% cheaper than in Europe. May I recommend the Rosemary Mint Shampoo, Tourmaline Charged Hydrating Cream, Carribean Therapy Body Cleanser and Hand Relief?

This 168-year old apothecary is another New York classic, located in the middle of West Village. Bigelow is the place for celebrities, locals and us fashionistas to buy the classic lotions and bodywashes. Italian stylist Giovanna Battaglia once said in an interview the lemon scented wash is her favourite beauty product.Trust me you don’t need Gio’s approval, the smells are wonderful and the beautiful old school packages make great gifts for yourself or fashionista friends at home.

Survived the Xmas obligations, now it’s time to party 2010 away. You may need a skilled BFF/make up artist to do this, but these fake feather lashes from Shu Uemura are definitely worth a try.
