Theyskens’ Theory SS12
A favourite since I discovered the brand in New York, Olivier Theyskens’ collection for Theory. I am very happy with his follow-up for the dropcrotch jeans. Or his version of leather leggings, the holographic film pants. I wish I still had the flagship store as close to home as I had three months ago, sigh…With his Belgian roots in mind, I say it’s time for an Antwerp flagship as well.

2nd Day FW11
In between the shows of Fashion Week, time again for my fave Danes, to be exact, the brand new line by Day Birger et Mikkelsen, 2nd Day. This diffusion line is taking its inspiration from the concept of urban minimalism. This resulted in less classic, clean, edgy designs with a sauce of Day’s signature boho-chic, love it.
NYFW; Helmut Lang SS12
For the first time in five years, Helmut Lang showed on the New York catwalk. The minimal pants, jackets and dresses have a consistancy of being cool, urban and edgy. For their prints, husband-and-wife designers Nicole and Michael Colovos always choose a contemporary designer. For this Spring collection they chose the yellow brushstrokes of Richard Serra, love it.
